Lady Talk Matters and FemConnect Shine at Sithembele Mathiso Secondary School
Love, laughter, and learning filled the hall of Sithembele Mathiso Secondary School as we at Lady Talk Matters and FemConnect brought our special blend of joy to the Mr. and Miss Valentines Show. But this event wasn’t just about crowning royalty—it was about spreading love, breaking taboos, and educating both girls and boys about period poverty.
In a heartwarming collaboration, we as Lady Talk Matters and FemConnect didn’t just stop at donating 600 reusable pads—we seized the opportunity to shine a spotlight on menstrual hygiene and empowerment. Armed with knowledge and enthusiasm, we took to the stage to educate students about period poverty and the importance of menstrual health.
But the fun didn’t end there. We also took the time to interview boys and girls about what they knew about menstruation. The responses were eye-opening, ranging from curiosity to confusion, but one thing was clear—there was a need for more education and open conversation about this natural aspect of life.
As the event came to a close, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and enlightenment not only were 600 reusable pads donated, but hearts and minds were also opened to the importance of menstrual health and hygiene.
In the end, it wasn’t just about a beauty pageant—it was about spreading love, breaking taboos, and empowering students with knowledge.
