Lady Talk Matters Delivers Menstrual Health Education and Reusable Pads

At Lady Talk Matters, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing essential education on menstrual health. This week, we took another significant step forward by reaching out to 300 young boys and girls in our community. Through our educational sessions, we aimed to equip them with the knowledge and understanding they need to navigate their menstrual health with confidence and dignity.
One of the key highlights of our initiatives is the donation of our reusable period pads. These pads are not just any ordinary products—they are crafted with care by the talented women of our local Kayamandi community. By supporting these local ladies, we are not only providing sustainable menstrual products but also fostering economic empowerment within our community.
During the event, we witnessed a touching moment that underscored the importance of including boys in our educational efforts. A young boy approached us at the end of the session, asking if he could get pads for his mum. This simple request highlighted the profound impact that education can have in breaking down taboos and fostering a supportive environment for women.
By educating boys alongside girls, we are creating a generation that understands and respects the menstrual health needs of the women in their lives. This young boy’s actions demonstrate that when boys are given the right information, they can become powerful allies in breaking down the stigma surrounding menstruation.
The event was filled with moments of learning and connection. The young participants were eager to engage and learn, and their enthusiasm was truly inspiring.
We are incredibly proud of the work we are doing at Lady Talk Matters. Our mission is not just about providing education and resources; it’s about building a supportive and informed community where everyone feels empowered to talk openly about menstrual health.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Together, we are making a difference, one conversation and one pad at a time.
