Empowering young women through education and sustainable period products
Last week, the Lady Talk Matters team made a significant impact in Franschhoek by providing essential menstrual health education and distributing locally produced reusable period pads to over 250 girls.
Our commitment to breaking down barriers surrounding menstrual health continues as we reach more young people with accurate, stigma-free information. During the session, participants engaged in discussions about their bodies, menstrual cycles, and how to manage their periods confidently using sustainable period products.
By ensuring access to both education and high-quality reusable period pads, we empower young girls to stay in school and participate fully in their daily activities without disruption. Every pad provided is made locally, supporting employment opportunities for women in township communities while offering a sustainable solution to period poverty.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support these incredible young women and look forward to expanding our outreach to even more communities. Together, we are changing the conversation around menstrual health, one period at a time.
