Lady Talk Matters Empowers Girls at Strand Secondary School with Pad Donation
On 21 May, the compassionate efforts of the Lady Talk Matters organisation brought a wave of support and empowerment to Strand Secondary School. The non-profit initiative successfully conducted a significant pad donation drive, ensuring that young girls at the school have access to essential sanitary products.
Lady Talk Matters distribute 500 period pads to female students, aiming to combat period poverty and promote dignity and confidence among learners. This generous contribution is expected to positively impact the attendance and well-being of the girls, allowing them to focus on their education without interruption.
“We believe that no girl should miss school because of her period. “Our mission is to ensure that every girl has the resources to stay in school and achieve her full potential.” Sandra Machinja (Education Lead)
The students at Strand Secondary School expressed immense gratitude for the donation, highlighting the critical need for such support within the community. The partnership between Lady Talk Matters and Strand Secondary School underscores a shared commitment to fostering an environment where all students can thrive.
