Lady Talk Matters Distributes Period Pads and Education at Helderberg Netball Tournament and Casablanca
This past weekend, Lady Talk Matters was on the ground at the Helderberg netball tournament and Casablanca, where our dedicated representatives distributed our locally produced period pads and provided essential menstrual health education to over 100 women and girls.
The event was not just about providing sustainable menstrual products; it was about opening up conversations and empowering these young individuals with knowledge about their bodies and how to manage their periods confidently. One of the highlights was that some of the boys in attendance chose to listen in, helping to break the taboo around periods and encourage more open, supportive dialogue among peers.
It was heartening to see the girls deeply engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and seeking more information—not only for themselves but also for their families. Some girls even requested extra pads to take home to their mothers, demonstrating a strong understanding of the importance of sharing this knowledge and making a positive impact on their wider communities.
It was an inspiring weekend of engagement, support, and community empowerment. At Lady Talk Matters, we believe that access to menstrual health education and reusable period products is essential for everyone, and we are committed to breaking down the stigma surrounding periods one conversation at a time.
