Lady Talk Matters Completes Successful Reusable Pad Donation and Health Education in Zimbabwe

Lady Talk Matters has successfully completed its first round of donations of reusable period pads and menstrual health education sessions in Zimbabwe. The organization’s recent initiative aimed to empower young girls with the necessary resources and knowledge to manage their menstrual health effectively and with dignity.

The completion of the donation and education sessions marks a significant milestone in Lady Talk Matters’ efforts to address period poverty and menstrual health challenges in the region. The reusable period pads, manufactured by a team of trained women in Zimbabwe, have been distributed to several schools and communities, particularly those in underserved and remote areas where access to menstrual products remains limited.

Furthermore, the comprehensive menstrual health education sessions conducted by Lady Talk Matters are helping to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation. These sessions focused on educating young girls about proper menstrual hygiene practices, the correct use of reusable pads, and the importance of maintaining good menstrual health.

“We are thrilled to have completed our first donation of reusable pads and menstrual health education sessions in Zimbabwe. Our aim is to ensure that no girl misses out on her education due to lack of access to menstrual products and information. By providing these resources, we hope to empower girls to manage their periods with confidence and dignity,” remarked Sandra Machinja, Head of Production at Lady Talk Matters.

The successful completion of this initiative has garnered positive feedback from the local communities and educational authorities in Zimbabwe. It signifies a crucial step towards promoting sustainable menstrual health practices and empowering girls with the tools they need to lead healthy and productive lives.

Lady Talk Matters remains dedicated to its mission of promoting menstrual health and hygiene across Africa. With the completion of this first phase in Zimbabwe, the organization looks forward to continuing its efforts to reach more communities and make a lasting impact on the lives of girls and women in the region.
